Dr. James Rouse, N.D., is monthly columnist in Mindset and positive living in Science of Mind Magazine and the "Ask a Naturopath" in Vegetarian Times Magazine (I'm Vegan).

His medical degree from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine integrates pharmacology and other "Western" treatment methods with intensive study in botanical, nutritional, homeopathic and other holistic approaches

He's written two Gaiam/Rodale books, "Health Solutions for Stress Relief " and "Health Solutions for Sleep"

His training and studies include psychology, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, and ayurvedic medicine

He's best known for his "Optimum Wellness" TV series, which he hosts on NBC affiliate channels in cities including Los Angeles, Seattle (KIRO TV) and Denver, where he lives with his wife Debra and their two daughters

For a time, he owned an organic restaurant in Portland (Common Sense Cafe) and frequently recommends recipes based on his creations in the restaurant and his knowledge and interest in the power of nutrition in the chemistry that supports the body's natural healing and immune systems
